On the more serious side, go to National Review Online and watch the 5 segments of discussion between Peter Robinson and Dr. Thomas Sowell on the Hoover Institution’s “Uncommon Knowledge.” You will be very glad you did.

This post is just to see how YouTube embeds look in the Benevolence theme.

obamazombies

hey don’t eat. They dont sleep. They don’t think! They have no will of their own. They walk the Earth, in search of brains, with that dazed look in their eye.

You may have noticed I haven’t posted much of late.

Writer’s block.

I simply haven’t been able to figure out what to write. How do you appeal to the reason of those who aren’t reasoning? How do you persuade the unpersuadeable? How do you get through to the walking dead?

But of course, you don’t. Obama supporters aren’t going to listen to reason. You can run through his math, and prove that it doesn’t add up. You can play audio of his disdain for the constitution and founding fathers. You can catalogue his shady dealings, radical ties and corrupt connections, or detail his disturbing attempts to prosecute and intimidate critics….

There is no persuading the Obamazombies.

But, I realized, there is a great deal we can do. We don’t need to wake the dead. We can beat them.

The media are working very hard, and very deliberately to convince you the election is over. You’ve probably heard many pundits say as much. “It’s over”, “Obama’s clinched it” — any story they can find to convince you your vote is pointless. They even run reports of a bookie in Ireland who has paid out on bets, conceding that “Obama’s already won”.

They’re doing it very much on purpose.

In 2000, they learned that by calling the election in Florida before polls were closed in the panhandle, they convinced thousands not to bother. They are applying that lesson now, trying to dispirit and depress Republican turnout.

Don’t listen to them. It’s deliberate, pre-meditated propaganda. The polls are close and getting closer. McCain and Palin have struck a chord by pointing out Obama’s redistributionist promises. The all important youth vote? The one’s that are supposed to be most motivated to turn out for “the One”? …John McCain now leads that demographic.

So don’t listen to Obama’s mouthpieces in the MSM. Do NOT be discouraged. Be absolutely sure to vote. Vote early if you can. Call your friends and family and make certain they vote as well. Call up your local McCain campaign, or the campaign offices of your local Representatives or Senators and volunteer to help them get out the vote.

Voter turnout will decide this election — it’s that close. All we need to stop 4-8 years of socialism, a drastic lurch to the left, liberal courts, the “Freedom to Choose” Act, “Card Check”, the “Fairness” Doctrine and electoral reforms intended to keep Democrats in power in perpetuity — is to ignore the media, don’t despair, vote, and help our candidates turn out the vote! If you live in a solid-red state or precinct, the campaign can give you a phone and you can help turn out the vote in a swing state!

If you’ve never done it before, volunteering for a campaign can be a little intimidating. There’s no reason it should be. It’s very easy. Call up, or drop by in these last few days, and ask how you can help. It’s not rocket-science. They’ll teach you everything you need to know. But it makes a very big difference!

Pet Owners Prefer McCain

never trust a person who doesn’t love animals. Unless they were attacked as a child, or beaten with dead animal carcasses, or something similarly traumatic, there really is something deeply wrong with them. A new poll by “the-news-service-that-shall-not-be-named” and Yahoo News lends new political perspective to that belief.

According to the poll of 1,759 adults, pet owners prefer John McCain over Obama 42 to 37 percent. Dog owners prefer McCain by nine points, cat owners prefer him by three.

Conversely, the heartless, animal-hating minority of rat-bastards that don’t care enough about anyone but themselves to own a pet prefer Obama by 48 to 34 percent.

As far as the candidates go, the McCain family has an English Springer Spaniel named Sam, a mutt named Coco, turtles Cuff and Link, a black and white short-hair named Oreo, one ferret, three parakeets and a bunch of saltwater fish.

The Obama family has no pets, but Barack has promised his daughters a dog, “after the election.”

Looks like my instincts were right.

The wedding photos are here. Looks like it was a beautiful ceremony. Also looks like Henry was keeping his knees bent to keep from fainting. Smart move!

The bear facts about the bear business

re you confused by the whole global warming thing? Do your eyes glaze over and do you quickly turn the page at the very mention? You are not alone.

The Interior Department ruled today that the polar bear will be protected as a threatened species”. The polar bear population across the Arctic has doubled from an estimated 12,000 to 25,000 since 1960. But some scientists believe that sea ice, necessary to the bears, may diminish in future years because of global warming. This is an enormous threat to the American economy.

But there has been no global warming for the past 10 years, and there has been actual cooling for the last 5 years. What’s up with that?

“Threatened” is a term with specific meaning. It means their numbers are declining and the species is likely to become “endangered”. But if the numbers of bears are increasing, then why… Because the predictions of computer climate models said that in future years the sea ice may diminish. But…

But the predictive ability of the climate models is increasingly in question. Meteorologists will tell you that they can predict the weather with some degree of accuracy about 5 to 7 days out. Many scientists say that the climate models have no predictive ability whatsoever.

Well then, how effective is the Endangered Species Act? It’s very hard to tell. In some cases, an order to stop shooting the animal in question meant that the species increased. Many have been de-listed because it turned out that they weren’t threatened or endangered in the first place. Counting species accurately is exceedingly tricky. Do they only live here, or could they live just as well there? Is this a lone population or are there 20 more just over the next ridge? Faulty data is frequent.

The Endangered Species Act is, for many environmentalists, not a law to protect plant and animal species, but a back door means of preventing economic development of some chosen area. It is for others a mythical attachment to the idea of “a balance of nature”, which does not exist, for in nature there is only constant change.

The drive to list the polar bear as endangered is more about drilling for oil in the Arctic than it is about the bears. And the propaganda has been intense. We watched “The Golden Compass” recently, a movie made about a children’s book, a fantasy that includes ice-bears — essentially talking polar bears. To watch the movie, we had to endure a commercial from the WWF featuring a little girl pleading for other children to enlist their parents in the campaign to save the polar bear. Unbelievably crass.

So, it is back to the courts, for both sides have said they will sue.

This is a dreadfully dishonest way to deal with national conundrums. No matter how much the naive urban people dream of a world energized by the power of the sun and the wind and hydroelectric power, it’s not going to happen. At least not in the foreseeable future. And if you don’t like the price of gas, write to the Congressional Democrats — they have a lot to answer for.

In the meantime, no wonder your eyes glaze over…
